How it works
The calculator multiplies the total distance by your car's consumption and divides by 100 to estimate the litres needed. It then multiplies those litres by the fuel price.
The formula is litres = km × consumption / 100 and cost = litres × price per litre. If you choose round trip, the distance is doubled before the calculation.
Splitting the cost
Cost per person is the estimated total divided by the number of people sharing the bill. If the driver is not paying, leave them out of that number.
For a more realistic estimate, use your car's usual average consumption and the price you see at the station.
